The Fairfax County Department of Transportation is holding a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to celebrate the completion of the Mount Vernon Memorial Highway Trail.
When: Friday, May 12, at 10:00 a.m.
Where: George Washington Gristmill & Distillery (look for the white tent), 5513 Mount Vernon Memorial Highway, Alexandria

About the project: Construction of a 6,400-foot long, 10-foot wide, shared use path and a pedestrian bridge adjacent to the Mount Vernon Memorial Highway bridge crossing Dogue Creek. This project completes missing segments of the East Coast Greenway Trail, Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail, and the NoVA Loop Trail.
There will be a short inaugural bike ride/walk after the event so bring your bike or walking shoes if you’d like to join in!
