Fairfax County is advancing electric vehicle adoption through programs that support residents, businesses, and community facilities with resources and incentives for EV charging. This session will explore how countywide programs such as Charge Up Fairfax are shaping EV readiness the future of sustainable mobility in Northern Virginia.

Rama Mitry

Rama Mitry is an Energy and Climate Action Manager at Fairfax County’s Office of Environmental and Energy Coordination and the Program Manager of Charge Up Fairfax - an initiative aimed at expanding access to electric vehicle charging in local communities. She joined the County in January 2025, bringing over 12 years of experience in green engineering, sustainable design and environmental consulting and construction.
Rama leads strategic efforts to enhance EV infrastructure and advance community-centered sustainability programs that promote energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact. Her academic background in architectural regeneration, with a focus on sustainability, informs her approach to delivering measurable, lasting benefits for both the environment and the communities she serves.

Julie Gurnee

Julie Gurnee

Julie Gurnee is a Climate Mitigation Specialist with Fairfax County's Office of Environmental and Energy Coordination. She holds a degree in Biology and Ecology from the University of Montana and has been working for Fairfax County since 2012.
In her current role, Julie manages Fairfax County's Electric Vehicle Readiness Strategy, supports the Charge-Up Fairfax Program, and works on the Green Business Partners Program. She was recently nominated to serve on the Loudoun County Environmental Commission as their Clean Transportation Subject Matter Expert.
Throughout her career, Julie has focused on advancing sustainability and conservation initiatives across the Northern Virginia region.
