The Northern Virginia Transportation Authority (NVTA) is seeking public input on its list of 41 candidate transportation projects submitted by 13 jurisdictions and agencies for NVTA regional funding consideration, as part of its FY2020-2025 Six Year Program. The projects being evaluated cover multiple modes of transportation, including roadways, transit and pedestrian/bicycle pathways.

The public is invited to learn more about and comment on NVTA’s candidate projects during the public comment period, occurring now through 11:59 p.m. May 24, 2020. The project list, individual project description forms, maps and detailed analyses are available at: https://thenovaauthority.org/fy2024-2025-six-year-program-update/.

Public input is an important part of the Six Year Program process. We welcome your feedback and will review all comments provided through the comment form at www.thenovaauthority.org/SYP-comment/ or via email: SYPcomment@TheNoVaAuthority.org. If you’d like to provide comment in-person, we will be holding a Six Year Program Public Hearing on May 14, 2020 at NVTA’s offices: 3040 Williams Drive, Suite 200, Fairfax, VA 22031. The Public Hearing will commence immediately following a 7:00 p.m. presentation on the Six Year Program Process. However, due to the COVID-19 situation and Governor Northam’s Stay at Home Order outlined in Executive Order Fifty-Five, it is strongly encouraged Northern Virginians provide comments electronically or via postal service.

The previously offered complimentary shuttle with service from the Dunn-Loring-Merrifield Metro Station, courtesy of Fairfax County Department of Transportation, is no longer available in order to practice safe social distancing.
