Fairfax City invites you to a meeting about the Jermantown Road Corridor Improvement Project. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on May 31 in the Katherine Johnson Middle School cafeteria. Come learn about the project and share ideas with the design team.
Homes, schools, offices, and stores are located along Jermantown Road. The road connects the city to Fairfax County. This area of the city is growing and changing.
The city began planning for this project in 2018. The city received $21M from the NVTA for this project in 2019. The project team studied Jermantown Road between Route 50 and I-66. A concept plan was created to improve the corridor. Recommended improvements include:
-Making the road wider in some areas
-Making the road safer for walking and biking
-Making it easier to access bus stops
-Reducing the number of driveways
View maps and displays at the meeting and share your experiences with the team.
