Army Navy Drive Complete Street Groundbreaking Ceremony

October 24, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 10:30 am

The public and media are invited to join the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority (NVTA), Arlington County and the National Landing Business Improvement District at the groundbreaking for the Army Navy Drive Complete Street Project. The ceremony will take place at the site of the future park at Army Navy Drive and South Eads Street, on the side closest to the 400 block of Army Navy Drive (south curb, at the intersection of Army Navy Drive and South Eads Street).

This project will deliver multimodal safety and access improvements to a 1.2-mile segment of Army Navy Drive from South Joyce Street to 12th Street South, including a segment of the future Transitway Extension to Pentagon City; a two-way protected cycle track on the south curb; and numerous pedestrian safety improvements throughout the project corridor.

Complete street improvements on Army Navy Drive will serve local multimodal travel demand within the corridor, including serving Amazon’s HQ2 at PenPlace and MetPark, enhancing connections to Metrobus and Metrorail, and improving connections to the Pentagon. It will expand transportation options for all road users to support existing and forthcoming residential and office development in Pentagon City and Crystal City.
